PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatment
Step 1: Initial consultation
On your first visit to Myla Bella Esthétique capillaire, you will meet with our specialist for an in-depth consultation. This consultation allows us to understand your specific needs, assess and examine your scalp, and discuss expected results.
Step 2: Preparing PRP
- Blood sampling: A small sample of your blood is taken, usually from your arm.
- Centrifugation: The collected blood is then placed in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the other blood components.
This process takes about 10 to 15 minutes. - PRP preparation: Platelet-rich plasma is collected and prepared for injection.
Step 3: Application of GWP
- Local anesthesia: An anesthetic cream can be applied to the scalp to minimize discomfort during injections.
- PRP injections: PRP is injected directly into areas of the scalp affected by hair loss. Injections are performed with a fine needle, and the entire procedure takes around 30 to 45 minutes.
Stage 4: Post-treatment
After the injections, you may experience slight tenderness or swelling of the scalp, but this usually disappears within a few days. There is no downtime, and you can resume your normal activities immediately after treatment.
Duration and frequency of treatment
- Session duration: Each PRP session lasts approximately 60 to 90 minutes, including preparation and injection time.
- Initial frequency: For optimum results, we recommend an initial cycle of 3 to 4 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.
- Maintenance treatment: After the initial cycle, maintenance sessions are recommended every 4 to 6 months to prolong and optimize results.
Results
1 to 2 weeks after treatment :
- Some patients may begin to notice a reduction in hair loss. However, visible changes in hair growth are still rare at this stage.
1 to 3 months after treatment :
- The first signs of new hair growth may begin to appear.
3 to 6 months after treatment :
- Most patients experience a significant improvement in hair density and quality. Newly grown hair becomes more visible and thinning areas fill in. Around 70% to 80% of patients see noticeable results at this point.
6 to 12 months after treatment :
- Results continue to improve over time. Hair becomes stronger, thicker and healthier. Patients can continue to see increased growth and a steady reduction in hair loss.
