Sweet almond oil and its benefits
Sweet almond oil is full of unsaturated fatty acids.
It’s not only good for pregnant women’s tummies, it also effectively protects against stretch marks.
Unsaturated fatty acids are appreciated by popular hair types: medium, strong, wavy and curly.
Sweet almond oil makes regularly treated hair soft and shiny.
It restores vigor to hair that was previously dry and brittle.
Sweet almond oil is obtained by cold pressing the kernel of the almond.
It is neither heated nor filtered, so it retains all its properties.
Two different products are sold commercially under the name of almond oil: sweet almond oil and bitter almond oil.
Sweet almond oil for which hair?
When it comes to hair oils, sweet almond oil for hair is a common choice.
This is particularly true of people with high porosity (damaged hair) and medium porosity hair, who like polyunsaturated oils.
These are oils with large molecules that fill gaps and perfectly preserve hair from the outside.
Sweet almond oil , not almond oil, is rich in fatty acids: it contains up to 68% oleic acid(omega-9) and up to 26% linoleic acid (omega-6).
Palmitic and stearic fatty acids are also present in its composition.
The polyunsaturated oils loved by hair with high porosity(damaged hair) are not the end of the benefits of sweet almond oil care.
People with lightly-colored, smooth, slippery hair who sometimes need a good dose of vitamins often turn to sweet almond oil.
Almond oil is a rich source.
It contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and E, which similarly have a positive effect on the scalp.
The last of these is a powerful antioxidant that delays the aging process of hair and skin.
An ideal oil for skin, hair and scalp care.
Almond oil to enrich hair products
Almond oil is frequently featured as an ingredient in hair masks and moisturizing conditioners sold in chemists’ shops.
However, the quantity of sweet almond oil contained in these products is generally very small. With Myla Bella, you pay for an oil with an excellent, proven composition.
It’s conscious care that’s good for your hair, your scalp and your wallet.
How to use almond oil for best results?
Almond oil can be used in many ways in hair care.
Among them, the most popular is hair oiling and scalp care, which comes in four variations:
- Dry oiling
- Wet treatment
- Basic oiling
- Dry oil for hair
- Two-step oiling with conditioner
The first method, dry oiling, can be performed daily using a very small amount of oil with a glass pipette.
This helps tame unruly hair and protect the ends.
Dry oiling of the hair and scalp overnight requires a larger quantity of oil, adequate protection of bedding against stains, and a morning wash that includes emulsifying the oil with a conditioner.
Oil for wet hair
This hair oiling, for greater convenience and even distribution of the oil over the hair, can be done in a bowl of warm water.
Simply take a few drops of oil in a pipette, dissolve in water and submerge your hair up to about 10 cm from the roots.
Again, almond oil can be left on the hair for a few tens of minutes, a few hours or overnight, then emulsified with conditioner.
A honey primer will be appreciated by very porous hair (damaged hair), as the honey will provide an invaluable extra dose of moisture.
Simply mix a teaspoon of honey in 100 ml of water and spray the mixture into your hair before applying oil.
Two-step lubrication
What is the two-step oil treatment? This is the application of a conditioner over a layer of sweet almond oil, applied wet or dry.
In this case, all you need is a relatively short period of time, 10 to 15 minutes with the oil alone, and the same amount of time with a mask or conditioner.
Lubrication accessories
Essential accessories for hair care with sweet almond oil include a wide-tooth comb, a glass pipette, a cap or scarf for protection and to enhance the oiling effect, and an atomizer if you decide to use an oily base.
How to store it
To ensure that the oil lasts as long as possible, it is cold-pressed.
The best-before date is one year.
Buy sweet almond oil in a dark bottle to protect it from light and heat.
However, it is not necessary to store it in the refrigerator.
